h3>Hush "One Above The Eight" Gets a Flying Start
The first "One Over the Eight" live music night at Hush, featuring Mason, Mynas and The Tiny Giants, drew a large crowd and had a great atmosphere. The organisers, including Mynas' band members, hope to replicate this night's success on a monthly basis.

Two songs which are becoming firm favouites in Mynas' live set are now entering the final stages of mixing and mastering. "Dent" and "Made" are destined for the second Mynas album coming in 2012, but will be ready for preview for fans in June, when Mynas will already be back in the studio to begin work on more new tracks for the album (watch out for them making a live set near you this Summer).
The venue had four cancelled bands on Saturday the 30th, yet Hush came alive at night when Mynas took to the stage. This set was the first time the whole band have have aired covers of some classic songs, including Sarah's debut as a lead singer with Mynas. Many friends of the band attended, though a large part of the audience were popping their Mynas cherry. Thanks to you all for your rapturous appreciation, resulting in an impromtu encore. We hope to see you at Drakken Fest Monday 2nd May
Logistics got in the way of what could have been a great celebration of St Georges day, so now Mynas' next appearance will be at the Love Music Hate Racism Festival. The venue is the brand new Hush bar above Eight Bar on Shamble Street.
After a fantastic welcome at the O2 Academy, Sheffield in March, Mynas were invited to support the Birmingham all girl band - Poppy and the Jezebels when they visit The Forum in Sheffield on Wednesday the 13th April. Join us there and, in the mean time, check them out on MySpace.
Del Scott Miller and Chris Scarfe of Mynas are putting on a St. George's day shindig at the Lucorum on the 23rd of April. Afternoon kick-off, bands, spoken word, comedy, raffles and a £^&$ing good DJ set all in the name of celebrating the past and embracing the cultural future of our fine, forward thinking nation. They hope you'll grace them with your presence.
Well done to Dirty Jeans, winners on the night, though Mynas were offered a wildcard heat place next week after receiving the highest audience vote. The band, though bemused, were thrilled to receive this vote of confidence from the public and wish to thank you all for your support.
Joining Mynas on stage at Blah Bar on the 20th will be re-known local saxophonist, Katie Needham. She we help recreate the seldom-heard Much Talk Behind My Back. Practically labelled Latin 2 by the band, this track relies heavily on Katie's meandering sax over the instrumental section, as well as the extra pace and atmosphere she adds to the final chorus.
Unfortunately the weather conditions meant Heat 2, including Mynas, had to be postponed until the 26th January 2011. New songs will have been added to the repetoire by then. If popular, they may be the ones to take Mynas to the next stage!
Mynas will take on four other local bands in this week's Wednesday night heat of the M-Fest Battle of the Acts - Unsigned, at Soul Bar in Barnsley. Mynas will perform a handful of their best songs for the equally split judgement of the audience and nominated panel. Please come and vocalise your support on the 1st December to help Mynas progress to the next round in Manchester.
Having toured Leeds, Castleford, Doncaster and Sheffield since their album launch, Mynas returned to their local haunt, Lucorum in Barnsley. The crowd lifted the band and the band reciprocated, generating the best atmosphere for Mynas since the album launch. Hopefully, a taste of what's to come.
A fan said "I got the album at the launch gig and it's great to hear my favourite tracks live and be able to sing along.... ....It felt like being at a famous band's gig, you know what I mean?"
Mynas would like to thank everyone at the gig, without naming names for fear of missing many others, all of whom made the night so special. Despite the next Barnsley gig being cancelled, Mynas will return this year.
We were band of the month for October. There are two interview videos featured as well as one of a rehearsal of "RETREAT". Check them out here. Don't worry if you didn't catch us in October. The WE ARE BARNSLEY page has a comprehensive archive of all previous bands of the month.
The good news for fans of the debut album is the promise of more new material in the near future. Along with a few fan's favourites already in the live set, three new songs are at various stages of rehearsal with many more already on paper from the pen of Miller. Mynas will be back in the studio soon after completing their current promotional tour. Join our mailing list or Facebook page to be kept up to date with all our gigs and future releases in 2011.
Prior to our gig on the 22nd at the Tut'n'Shive, Doncaster, Del and Chris were be interviewed by Simon at Sine FM.
Many thanks to the large crowd, who made the atmosphere at our album launch the best of all our gigs so far. The band performed two sets of seven songs, including three songs not on the first album, one of which had never been heard live before. The appreciative audience demanded encores, where "Retreat" was accompanied by a more impassioned performance of the new song, "Dent". It's safe to presume there would have been more to please the demanding crowd if Mynas had not already treated them to their entire repetoire.

Penistone FM played our tracks and aired an interview with Del and Chris recorded on the 8th.
